About Ben Stein

Ben Stein is known to many as a movie and TV personality but he is best known for his work in the corporate finance world. He has written for Barron's and The Wall Street Journal. He was one of the chief busters of the junk-bond frauds of the 80s. He frequently travels the country speaking about finance in both serious and humorous ways. He is a regular contributor to the CBS and Fox News networks.

Ben Stein wrote the book The Real Stars. He is an advocate for veterans and pays tribute to all men and women who wear the uniform of our country. He says that "the men and women who fight for our freedom while risking their lives for $1,500 a month are the real stars." He says, "The real stars are the ones who fight fires and crime and teach autistic children for modest wages."

Ben Stein received his B.A. with honors in Economics from Columbia University in 1966. He went to Yale Graduate School where he earned his law degree. Then he went to work as an economist for the Department of Commerce.
