William Rose his military career
Specialist William Rose earned his Air Medal on June 13th 1972 while participating in aerial flight in the Republic of Viet Nam as the crew chief on a UH-IH helicopter. He flew that helicopter on all of its missions. It was his responsibility to not only fly as a gunner on the missions but to handle all maintenance in flight or between missions. They flew missions  where under extreme anti aircraft fire  they imposed an assault that allowed Republic of Viet Nam soldiers to complete a successful missions saving their besieged capital  This situation occurred over 6 assault missions
In addition to the Air Medal, Specialist Rose earned the following medals for his heroism. Distinguished Flying Cross, Five other Air Medals, and the The Bronze Star
